Colin’s  interest in the First World War began when he watched the BBC Great War series (1964) with his grandfather, a veteran.

He taught History and Politics in South London for 36 years (32 as middle/senior manager) In his professional capacity he organised over 60 school journeys.

Has been secretary of numerous sporting clubs and a referee of soccer/rugby and a cricket umpire. He was Chair of Governors of a Special Needs school in East London and is currently Chair of Ingleside Estates Ltd. and the Dulwich Wine Society.

Within The Western Front Association, Colin  been Chair of a Branch for 15 years and, as a member of the Executive Committee, has overseen the production of a regular Speaker List and organised many WFA Conferences.

He is a member of the Cenotaph Committee and was Chair of the Centenary Committee.
