In this talk Professor Mark Connelly looks at the special place that Ypres occupies in British commemoration between 1914-1939. This will include the feelings of the pilgrims, the role of Ypres League and the rise of the Anglo-Belgium community as ex-servicemen IWGC gardeners married local women and started families.
