'Suspension of Branch Meetings’

Yesterday's announcement by the Prime Minister that it is in everyone's interest if attendance at non-essential events were to be avoided has provided us all with an unequivocal steer. Members of the Branch Committee have been in touch with another as a result.

Given the advice of Professor Chris Witty, Chief Medical Officer for England that 'we should not be under the illusion that 'if we just do this for a couple of weeks that is sufficient', the Committee has agreed that it would prudent, in all members' interests, if we were to postpone the speaker meetings currently arranged to be held on 8 April, 13 May and 10 June.

Whilst this decision involves our collective disappointment, there is the paramount need not to endanger the health and well being of any of our members. Our intention is, however, to resume our meetings just as soon as circumstances permit. I will be in touch with you as soon as practicable. In the meantime, keep washing your hands and look after for your neighbours and friends wherever you can.

Best regards

Trevor Harvey
