About the talk: Chris Pugsley traces the key events in 1918 which forged the New Zealand Division's fearsome reputation on the Western Front as an elite fighting force. As one of the key units in the Third Army, it famously lead an fighting advance over 100 kilometres (67 miles) in 75 days.
About the speaker: A former career army officer, Chris Pugsley retired from the New Zealand Army in 1988 shortly after being involved in a tv documentary about the Gallipoli campaign. He became a PhD in 1992 (University of Waikato), before becoming Writing Fellow (University of Wellington). He then taught in Australia, before his appointment as Senior Lecturer in War Studies, RMA Sandhurst. He was also appointed fellow at the University of Wellington.
