Somme Success: The RFC and the Battle of the Somme, 1916 by Peter Hart

The talk title is self-explanatory, however yet another Great War area that not many may be familiar with.

Most, if not all, Great War enthusiasts will know Peter and his body of work.  He is regarded as a lively, well informed and amusing speaker.  Peter is a regular and popular branch speaker throughout the WFA branches and has given several talks to our branch.  He's a military historian specialising in the Great War and was the Oral Historian at the at the Imperial War Museum from 1981 until his retirement.  Peter is the author of the magisterial Gallipoli (OUP 2013) as well as many other books on the Great War.
