Dr John Sutton will be giving a presentation on the Unknown Soldier.
This talk tells the story of where the idea of an Unknown Warrior was first conceived. It looks at the differing opinions of the King and the British government.

The talk also looks at how the Unknown Warrior was selected and his journey home from France and the nation's reaction to the burial service in Westminster Abbey.
Dr John Sutton is a professionally qualified engineer having had full careers in the Royal Air Force and the Civil Service. He has been a keen amateur historian for many years particularly of the Great War, Women’s Rights, the Justice System during the 19th and 20th centuries. John is a Senior Research Buddy for Century of Stories.
John is the Chairman of the branch and works with many groups and projects researching soldiers of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment.
