'William Harold Coltman VC' by Tim Coltman
14 Dec

Tim's presentation is based on the life of his great grandfather,  William Harold Coltman VC.

William joined the 1/6 N Staffordshire Regt in 1915 and was sent to France.  He was a member of the Plymouth Brethren and because of his faith could not kill so was one of the battalion's stretcher bearers. In two years of war he was awarded the Victoria Cross,  Military Medal and Bar and Distinguished Conduct Medal and Bar, all awards for bravery in action. He was the highest decorated non-commissioned officer of the British army.
