This is the second of two talks this afternoon
Bullecourt was part of the wider Battle of Arras in May 1917, it was here the 62nd (West Riding) Division 'cut their teeth' in action for the first time. The 2/6th West Yorkshire Regiment - Bradford Territorials - made a costly attempt to take this fortress village. Using eye witness accounts, letters, results of the enquiry and recently rediscovered sources we can now reconstruct how this battle was fought at a platoon level. The aim of this talk is to pierce the fog of war and look at how officers and soldiers planned and actually fought in the confused conditions of the battlefield.
