01 Feb

On 11th November 1918, the day the guns fell silent across the Western Front, 908 British Empire soldiers died in 23 countries spread across five continents  From the jungles of Papua New Guinea to the African savanna through China and Siberia, throughout the war British imperial forces fought many very different campaigns to those of their BEF counterparts in France. In this talk Tim Lynch describes some of the lesser known battlefields and operations of the First World War including the secret mission to bomb southern Germany, a recycled Zeppelin and the battle won by killer bees!
