Jäger Alfred Mayer, 3 Rgt d Tir K J.
From the Southern Tyrol, Austria, Alfred was born on 6 March 1889. A carpenter in civilian life, he was also an army reservist who was recalled to service at the beginning of the war. After seeing service against the Russians in 1914/15, he was later transferred to the Italian front and, following a wounding in mid-October 1915, he died in hospital at Innsbruck. Alfred was buried locally.
