The French First World War Association ‘Loos Sur les Traces de la Grande Guerre’ ‘In the footsteps of the Great War’ is organising ‘Loos Sunday’ over the weekend of  Saturday, 12 October to Sunday 13 October.

10:00 am to 11:15 am : Come to The Battle of Hill 70 Memorial Park for a public musical parade from memorial to the Place de la Republique with GIs Memory, Flanders Jocks, Le Carnet Vert, Loos Sur les Traces de la Grande Guerre, Somme Battlefield Pipes Band and Field Marshal Haig’s Own Pipes and Drums. 

10:00 am to 5:00 pm : Activities at the Foyer Omer Caron

  • Exhibition of panels on the Battles of Loos
  • Musical concerts and a marching bagpipe parade
  • Animated video game of the theme Great War
  • Visits to the Alexandre Villedieu Museum (prior registration on site)

10:00am to 12:00 Noon : Activities at the Place de la Republque.

  • Historical Re-enactments
  • GIs Memory, Flanders Jocks, Le Carnet Vert.

11:30am to 12:00 Noon : Concert at the Place de la Republique

  • Somme Battlefield Pipes Band, Field Marshal Haig’s Own Pipes and Drums. 

12:00 Noon to 2:00pm : Lunch Break

  • Visits to the Alexandre Villedieu Museum

2:00pm to 5:00pm : Foyer Omer Caron

  • Activities by ‘Loos, Sur les traces de la Grande Guerre’
  • Exhibition of panels on the Battles of Loos
  • Animation videogame on theme of the Great War

2:00pm to 5:00pm : Historical re-enactments

  • GIs Memory, Flanders Jocks, Le Carnet Vert.

2:15pm to 3:15pm : Place de la Republique

  • Marching Parade with Somme Battlefield Pipes Band, Field Marshal Haig’s Own Pipes and Drums

4:45pm to 5:00pm : Place de la Republique

  • Closing concert including the Somme Battlefield Pipes Band and Field Marshal Haig’s Own Pipes and Drums.
