Commemorating the capture of Riqueval Bridge by men of the 46th (North Midland) Division: 30 September

The Western Front Association Plaque commemorating the capture of Riqueval Bridge, by men of the 46th (North Midland) Division, has been removed for refurbishment and will soon be restored to the brick plinth.

In addition there will be a Western Front Association ceremony at 3pm on Saturday to unveil the renovated WFA memorial.

There will be a service to rededicate the Plaque on Sunday 30th September, and attendees must book in via the local tourist office.

 

9.00 am Meeting a Riqueval site (Bellicourt) for a bus ride to the various places of commemoration.

9.30 am Commemoration at the Bellinglise Australian Memorial in memory to the Australian soldiers. 

10.15 am Commemoration at the Riqueval Bridge in memory to the British soldiers

11.00 am Commemoration at the Bellicourt American Memorial in memory to the American soldiers.

11.45 am Opening ceremony of new location of the 30th US Division stele at Riqueval site, release of doves and vist of the military camp. 

12.30 pn Officials’ speeches

9:00 am Meeting at Riqueval Site (Bellicourt) for the bus to the different locations where ceremonies will be taking place.

 

9.30 am Remembering the 4th AIF Division at the Memorial of Bellenglise
