Three members of Thetford Grammar School Upper Sixth Form attended the WFA's Cenotaph Service on 11 November 2011 to lay a wreath in honour of all those members of their school who died whilst serving in the armed forces during the First World War.
The names of thirty-seven pupils of the school and three of their teachers appear on the War Memorial in the school. Most of these men served with British infantry regiments, two were Royal Marines, two flew with the Royal Air Force, one served with the Royal Naval Air Service Armoured Cars and one was a Chaplain. Of those who had emigrated, two served with Canadian forces and one each with those of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Rhodesia.
