1357 Sdt 2e Cl Louis Berthier, 22e BCA.
Born at Montagny, Loire on 15 July 1883, Louis was a recalled reservist in August 1914. After a short re-training at Albertville, he was soon in action by the end of August 1914 in Alsace, where he was to remain for the remainder of his service. After taking part in the fighting on the Linge during the battles for the summits of the Vosges, he was killed in action at Metzeral, Alsace on 21 June 1915. He has no known grave.
