Born at Combres on 2 April 1890, Louis was engaged in the last year of his compulsory military service at the outbreak of war. He was wounded and taken prisoner in the combat at Rothau, Vosges on 21 August 1914. Louis subsequently died in captivity in Germany on 9 September. His grave location is unknown.
