Infanterist Franz Josef Appl, K u K Inf-Rgt Nr 14.
Born in Lussdorf, Austria on 16 June 1879, Franz was a master weaver in Tattenitz before the war. Recalled to service in 1915, he served on the Russian front from early 1916 and was taken prisoner during the summer of that year. Franz died in captivity in Bogorodsk, Russia on 16 September 1916. His grave location is unknown.
