Remember RAF100 marks the formation of the RAF 100 years ago and commemorates air service personnel who lost their lives in World War One. Discover their stories, remember their contribution, and share your findings with your local community.
Your group can discover air service personnel buried or commemorated in your locality and plan activities to remember them. There are also engaging opportunities for schools to take part in the project. A free, creative resource pack with assembly and lesson plans is available for primary school teachers, as well as an illustrate-your-own poetry book.
Funding and free resources are available including the Remember RAF100 database and an A1 poster suitable for all ages is available with stories of the people behind the planes.
Remember RAF100 is led by Big Ideas and funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) with an additional grant from RAF100, through the Chancellor’s LIBOR funds, to work in the Home Nations. The Unremembered and Motherhood, Loss and the First World War are led by Big Ideas and funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) with an additional National Lottery grant from the Big Lottery Fund to work in the Home Nations.
