Kan Xaver Wittkopf, Kgl Bayer 1 Fussartillerie-Bataillon
Born on 15 November 1893, he was already a serving soldier at the time of the outbreak of war and saw action in the Battle of the Frontiers, Artois, Verdun and the Somme, where he was killed in action by a shell explosion on his battery on 24 September 1916.
Xaver is now buried in the German Military Cemetery at Maissemy, Aisne.
