This talk, at the Hornchurch venue, looks at the Royal British Legion and will be presented by Branch Member and Secretary of the Billericay Branch of the RBL, Derek Prior.
This will tell the history of the Royal British Legion from WW1 to its centenary, its origins, and initial activities and how those have been modified to remain relevant to the changing needs of the Forces Community, including recent case histories, using Billericay, Essex as a typical example.
Many of our talks reflects on the fallen of the First World War but this talk will look at how the survivors of this and other conflicts were helped. It is also timely with the launch of the 2024 Poppy Appeal within a month away from the date of the talk
Meet at the Poppy Lounge, Royal British Legion, Hornchurch, from 7:30 for an 8pm start. Entrance donation is £3.50 and, as ever, those who are not members of the WFA are very welcome to attend. There is parking nearby in a pay & display car park (24 hours), and we have access to the bar.
