RAF Involvement at the Battle of Amiens, August 1918

This talk will briefly cover the ground plan followed by detailed coverage of the RAF Structure during the Battle of Amiens.  A look into the various roles played by each aircraft type. Then personal recollections through the 8-10 of August detailing actions of Army Cooperation (particularly tanks).  Scouts, Reconnaissance and bombers. A final section will cover the logistics and tasking of the RAF during its first major operation as an independent force.

Colin Buxton is a former RAF navigator on Buccaneer aircraft. On leaving the RAF, worked for Cobham Plc for 20 years providing Electronic Warfare training for the RAF.
