The 1/7th Northumberland Fusiliers 1908-16

This talk explores the history and development of the 1/7th Northumberland Fusiliers from 1908 to its participation in the Battle of Flers-Courcelette on 15 Sep 1916. Part of 149th Infantry Brigade, 50th Division, the battalion is specifically examined in this talk, in particular its fight at Flers. The talk also draws wider conclusions about the Territorial Force in general.
