'A Nuclear Scientist's War ' by Terry Dean
11 Dec

Following a career in local government Terry pursued his interest in WW1 history, joined the Western Front Association, and became a volunteer at the Lancashire Infantry Museum in Preston.

Terry's talk tells the story of a student who carried out research onĀ radioactivity from 1909 to 1914 before joining the Royal Garrison Artillery in 1915 and seeing action at Loos. In early 1916 he was selected to join a sound ranging course and became an expert in that field with his methods being commended before the Battle of Amiens in 1918.
