The Empire Strikes Back – the battles of Trekkoppies and Gibeon 1915 an in-person talk by James White.

 For most of the campaign in Southwest Africa the German Schutztruppe spent their time retreating but on two notable occasions they took to the offensive. With modern day battlefield photographs this is the tale of the two battles one of which saw Rolls Royce armoured cars going in action.

 Based in Wiltshire, James draws on his own travels to, and his family connections with, East Africa to share his interest in and research into the African campaigns of the Great War in numerous talks to the Wiltshire WFA branch of which he is an active member.
