The motorcycle here is the Triumph ‘H’ motorcycle. A belt drive single cylinder 500cc coupled with a Sturmey Archer three speed gear box. If you look carefully at the picture you will see near the back wheel a spare drive-belt curled up like a spring. These very reliable machines were used in vast numbers – some 400 being produced every week for the armed services.
