Historian Professor Matt Fitzpatrick, Professor in the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences at Flinders University in Australia, talks about his research into the role of Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany during the Great War.

Wilhelm II was c controversial figure and Matt discusses his life, his political and military role during the Great war and his life after he abdicated in 1918.

Matt specialises in international history, in particular German and European history, as well as the history of European imperialism, German liberalism and nationalism. He is also interested in the comparative history of empires, and intellectual history.
