Prof. John Bourne, Dr Alex Mayhew and Dr Jonathan Boff discuss the current state of academic research on the First World War. 

All three have connections with Birmingham University. Jonathan is a Reader, Alex an Assistant Professor in the Social and Cultural History of the First World War and John is a retired professor. They discuss how the historiography of the Great War has changed since the 1970s, current development and where they think there are still gaps in the literature.
