ONLINE > 'The Penmaenmawr Quarry Boys: From Stone to Sand, Suvla Bay, August 1915' with Anne Pedley
26 Jul

The Gallipoli Association presents this online talk from Anne Pedley who will tell the story of a group of volunteers from the Penmaenmawr Quarry in North Wales, who served in the same company of the 6th RWF, in the Gallipoli campaign. The story takes in much of the history of the 53rd [Welsh] Division [the forgotten one] with a murder, the quarry owner trying to enlist as a private soldier and much, much more derived from letters, diaries and journals that Anne has collected over the years.

Anne Pedley is a retired lecturer and a Trustee of the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum Trust and an enthusiastic amateur historian of the First World War.
