Meet the authors

Education Officer - Martyn Hale (Ba Hons)

As a trustee of the WFA it is my role to further interest in the Great War and fulfil the associations aims through education. I am the editor of the education pages on this website and contribute a lot of the materials.

I completed a degree in War Studies from the University of Wolverhampton and went on to train to become a secondary school history teacher. I spent the first 8 years of my career working at Thomas Telford School in Shropshire, which is a top performing comprehensive. I left Telford as Head of Key Stage 4 History to become Head of Humanities at a new independent school in West London. Many of the lessons you find here have been tested on my students since my teaching career began.  There are also resources included in these pages from many other authors that have supported the WFA over the years.

If you wish to contribute resources, please get in touch.
