Irish National Heritage Week: 'Aspects of the Great War' Exhibition and Presentations

Ireland's National Heritage Week will run from 17 to 24 August 2024. In conjunction with this event,  the Cork Branch of the WFA will have an exhibition entitled 'Aspects of the Great War' at Bishopstown Library in the city. It will also hold the following presentations in the library:

Saturday 17 August

1200hrs: 'Stories beyond the Stones - Commonwealth War Graves Commission burials  in Co. Cork' by Fiona Forde

1430hrs: 'Cork and the Great War' by Gerry White

Saturday 24 August

1200hrs: ' Conditional Loyalty - The 1914 Curragh Mutiny' by Patrick Sheehan

1430hrs: 'Cork VC Heroes of the Great War' by Gerry White

Members of the Cork Branch will also be manning a research facility in the library on those days for visitors seeking information on an ancestor who fought in the Great War.

The exhibition will be in place for the duration of Heritage Week.
