The First World War was the first conflict that saw women in Britain and Ireland playing a major part on the Home Front and near the front lines. For the final branch presentation of 2024, Gerry White will examine the parts played by women who served in military and nursing organisations, as munition workers or simply by find raising to provide items of comfort for service personnel.
Gerry White is the Island of Ireland Trustee and Chair of the Cork Branch of the WFA.
