
Over four decades, Taff Gillingham has been a military historical advisor on many major film, television and theatre productions, including ‘Downton Abbey’, and the 2018 film ‘Journey’s End’. He regularly appears in TV documentaries.
In this talk Taff looks at how the Great War has been portrayed on British television over the years, and examines the historical messages that have been conveyed through various productions.
Suffolk WFA Branch Chairman Taff Gillingham is a military historian specialising in the life of the British and Commonwealth soldier during the first half of the twentieth century.
He is co-director of Khaki Devil Limited and The Great War Huts heritage project in Suffolk, which we made a Branch visit too in 2022.
