We welcome Dr Anne Samson to our branch. Her presentation is on an aspect of the Great War sadly overlooked, The Great War in Africa. The first small arms fire by a British Empire soldier in WW1 took place in Togoland on August 7th, 1914. It was fired by Alhaji Grunshi, serving in the Gold Coast Regiment.
