We are pleased to announce that our September meeting presentation will be by Mr Richard (Rick) Smith. Rick also visited us in 2024, and talked to us about 'Hawthorn Ridge, Then and Now'. This particular story is very close to his heart, and as a founder member of the H.R.C.H, he spoke of the battles and the various engagements in and around this particular area in France, with great passion, and in much detail.
On this visit, Rick will be talking to the group about his grandfather, 'Gunner Arthur Smith 'RFA/RHA' an ordinary man doing extraordinary things, at a place and time that promised death, Injury, and destruction at any given moment. All taken from Arthurs diaries, which he kept throughout his service, and which are now in the safe keeping of his family. Richard returns to us by popular demand from our members and guests, and I would personally recommend that this presentation is one not to miss.
