ONLINE: Empires of the Dead. How one man’s vision led to the national memorialisation of the war dead from WW1 and subsequent wars.
09 Jul

In this online presentation historian David Crane will look back on the life of Fabian Ware whose vision and determination led to the creation of the War Graves Commission and the subsequent memorialisation of the nation’s war dead. In doing this, he provided a model for other countries and helped the post war generation and future generations to come to terms with colossal grief and build a national sense of identity leading to the annual act of Remembrance.
