ONLINE: The Gallipoli landings: Holding the initiative
25 Apr

The presentation will be live and online.

It's now 107 years since the Gallipoli landings took place, and still there are more questions than answers.

As an expeditionary force of British, Australian and French Troops landed on the Peninsula, but what was the plan? Why were they there? And what occurred in the first 48 hours of the operation.

Clive Harris has studied the Gallipoli Campaign for 30 years and for this presentation he will focus on the Landings at Helles, Kum Kale and Anzac, comparing and contrasting at both the Operational level of the commanders and the tactical level of the serviceman on the ground.

Members wishing to participate will need to register: details of how to register will be circulated via The Western Front Association's newsletter 'Trench Lines'. If you are not a subscriber to 'Trench Lines' please subscribe now.
