On 29 September 1918, the 46th (North Midland )Division crossed the St Quentin Canal. To do this with a 3,000 life-jackets were sourced and supplied to the British Soldiers. 

In this article the author argues that supply and logistics in this action and others during the Hundred Days played a highly significant role in achieving the final victory in November 1918.
