We are pleased to say that once again The Western Front Association will lead the commemorations on 11 November at the Cenotaph in London. Members of the WFA are cordially invited to attend this and are advised to bring a form of identity plus their WFA membership card. Security will be tight so this request is not without good reason.

We would emphasise that only WFA members (and invited guests) will be able to access the event.

  • WFA members will assemble on King Charles Street. Please be there by no later than 10.30am
  • WFA parade will proceed onto Whitehall at approximately 10.55am
  • After the service, the WFA parade will return to King Charles Street
  • At 12 noon the WFA will hold its annual church service in the Guards' Chapel, Birdcage Walk
  • We will then move to Brown's Restaurant at Victoria for lunch, but booking and payment in advance is required. Again, the lunch is limited to paid-up WFA members only.

As in previous years, we look forward to seeing a number of distinguished guests (including from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission) cadets and school groups; invitations have also been extended to all the party leaders who have sitting Members of Parliament.

As is tradition, after the ceremony at the Cenotaph, the WFA will hold its annual service of remembrance at the Guards' Chapel. Members and non-members are equally welcome to attend. This will take place at 12 noon and last approximately an hour.

Unlike in previous years, we will not be live-streaming the event this year, but we do hope to provide images on our social media in 'real time' during the build up and after the two-minute silence.
