Every year The Western Front Association organises the Armistice Day commemorations around the Cenotaph. The only exceptions to this over the last 25 years have been when Armistice Day has fallen on a Sunday, when - understandably - the WFA's ceremony takes place elsewhere.
In 2010 we made a short film of the event, which was originally issued to members as a CD. This has now been re-edited and published on the WFA's Youtube channel. The short 18 minute film shows not only footage of the commemoration, but also the service afterwards at the nearby Guards Chapel. The video also sets out to explain the historical background to the cenotaph in the immediate aftermath of the Great War.
The film is shown below. We hope members and non-members alike enjoy this and realise how significant this annual ceremony is in terms of two of the WFA's 'core' missions of 'Remembering' and 'Educating the Public'.
