Pte Owen Carroll, died in Ireland (after being wounded in France) on this day in 1915

Owen was born 14 May 1891 Braganstown, County Louth, Ireland. His father was Edward Carroll (a gamekeeper) his mother Julia (née Clinton)

A defensive position built by the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards in August 1914. IWM Q 83057

He was wounded in the face serving with the 4th Bn Irish Guards some time between 1-6 November 1914.

Owen died in Hospital at Warley Barracks, Brentwood, some months later, on 20 February 1915.

He is buried in Stabannan, County Louth, Ireland
