Owen Carroll was born 14 May 1891 Braganstown, County Louth, Ireland.

His father was Edward Carroll (a gamekeeper) his mother Julia (née Clinton)

A defensive position built by the 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards in August 1914. IWM Q 83057

He was wounded in the face serving with the 4th Bn Irish Guards some time between 1-6 November 1914. 

Warley Barracks, Essex

He died in Hospital at Warley Barracks, Brentwood, the following year on 20 February 1915.
