Andrew Wood talks about his recent novel Hanham. It is based on the true story of three brothers who fought in the First World war and their family. Inspired by the purchase of a tobacco tin at auction, it tells the story of three brothers and their struggle to survive the turmoil of war and horror of the trenches. At home their eldest sister Kathleen tries to support a family soon ravaged by the conflict and maintain a grip on her own complicated life.
