Bernard de Broglio is an independent researcher with a particular interest in the Gallipoli Campaign and the Aegean air war 1915–1918.
Bern has made multiple field trips to the Gallipoli Peninsula and the Aegean Sea islands, locating aerodromes, hospitals and other First World War sites of interest.
He has contributed to the journals of the Australian Society of WW1 Aero Historians, the Gallipoli Association and the Great War Aviation Society. With partner Cheryl Ward, his then-and-now photographs of Australian hospitals on Mudros (Lemnos) have featured in Australian news media and been exhibited in Australia and Greece.
With Michael Crane, Bern operates Little Gully Publishing (littlegully.com), a small press specialising in the Gallipoli Campaign and the First World War in the Middle East.
