Author and COBWFA member Michel Gravel has done extensive research on actions along the Arras-Cambrai Road, including the story of how Canadians - and French speaking ones t that - were the first Allied troops to liberate a French village, in September 1918. In this video of his talk at our branch meeting on Dec. 18, Gravelle describes in amazing detail how the residents of Ecourt-Saint-Quentin, who refused to be evacuated in the German withdrawal, greeted their liberators.
The video of the talk is available now on the COBWFA website.
