 A fellow Cambridgeshire WFA member phoned me to say he had bought some photographs with notes and a diary, ... thus evolved this fantastic story of a man who recorded in his own words how he borrowed a sniper rifle and killed a German soldier in the trenches near Ypres, went on to become a RFC pilot, was awarded ‘ace’ status , only to get shot down by the top French ‘ace’, before being killed in a massive dog fight over enemy lines whilst returning from his 29th bombing mission.
