AGM followed by Paul Burkitt's talk on Clowne and Barlborough in World War One (Villages at War)
In 2014 Barlborough Heritage Centre researched all the men from the parish who fought in WW1 and produced a booklet called
‘Barlborough Heroes - Great War 1914 - 1918’.
The families histories of the men has been completed over the last few years.
In 2023 Clowne Local History Society published a booklet -‘Clowne at War - World War 1’ on the 105 men on the Clowne War Memorial who were killed in WW1, based on the research of Rita Mellor and help from
Barlborough Heritage Centre.
Paul's talk will focus on the research carried out, some of the fascinating family history stories and how The Western Front Association helped
