The story of Lt Col Gordon McQueen, Andrew's Great Grandfather in his journey from an aggregate merchant in Tynemouth, contemporary of one Stan Laurel, to a commission in the Tyneside Scottish throughout the Great War and to 1943 in service once again in the Second World War.

Marching to Alnwick on the founding of the Battalion, to the Somme, repatriated through injury, back to France before finishing his service in Sudan.
