Green Howards Museum and Richmond Castle

A trip by shared cars to Richmond for a visit to the Green Howards Museum and the Castle where Conscientious Objectors were imprisoned in the Great War. Our recent speaker Carl Watts has offered to guide us on the day.

Leaving Alnwick 08.15 from rear of playhouse. Richmond 10.15 – 15.15. Choice of eateries in the town centre to suit tastes.

Admission to museum £4.50 / £3.50

Admission to Castle £5.70 / 5.10 or free to English Heritage Members.

Contribution to fuel costs.

 

Friday 21st July 2017 meet at Rothbury at 10.30am

Rothbury Practice Trenches

A visit to the World War One practice trenches near Rothbury which have recently been investigated by archeologogists. We will share cars and be using a mininbus at the site to access the trench area. We will be guided by Jane Miller , a member of the excavation team.

Donation plus fuel contribution.

For either trip please let Dave know by June 5th, and if you are able to offer to drive !
