CHANGE OF SPEAKER

Roy Larkin - Where the Money Went

A look at some of the costs of the Great War which are obvious when pointed out, but not otherwise considered. Presents an opportunity for comment or discussion and aims to awaken and point the imagination in new directions.

Thames Valley Branch member Roy has a lifelong interest in road transport history with particular emphasis on the WW1 period and the war. Initial research at the Royal Logistic Corps Museum led to volunteering there and The National Archives provide ample opportunity to explore aspects of the back areas and Home Front - the quirkier the better! Author of two books about the omnibus in WW1 and a biography of Ernest Holmes from his WW1 service with 62 Coy ASC through Ministry of War Transport heavy haulage during WW2.
