16 Squadron RFC: an Army Cooperation Squadron by Colin Buxton

Colin’s talk will cover the history of Army Cooperation through the experiences of 16 Squadron. It will go into detail about tasks such as Artillery Spotting, Reconnaissance, Photography and Contact Patrols. It will include many personal recollections including from Dowding, Maltby and Portal who served as Squadron Commanders. And it will include detailed coverage of 'Bloody April' as 16 Squadron was one of the worst affected units in Arras during April 1917.

Members and non-members of The Western Front Association are equally welcome. Any new visitors are guaranteed a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome from a group of like-minded enthusiasts.
