In August 1915 men of the 9th Battalion of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and the 1st Warwickshire Yeomanry took part in this ill -fated campaign of World War One. They suffered heavy casualties.
The Fusilier Museum and the , in conjunction with the Gallipoli Association, are holding a series of events. These will be held at the Court Room and both museums.
Both museums have items and documents relating to the campaign.
10.00am Both museums open.
There is a small entry charge for the Fusilier Museum. Entrance to the Yeomanry Museum is free but a donation is welcome.
11.00am Peter Hart
Historian, broadcaster and author Peter Heart will speak on the Gallipoli campaign. This is a ticket only event. Tickets cost 6.00 and are available from Eventbrite. The ticket can also be used for museum access.
12.00pm Onwards
Displays and re-enactors in the Court House. These are open to visitors who purchase a ticket or donate to the Museums. There will be activities for children.
3.00pm A Gallipoli -themed walking tour of Warwick
This will be ed by local historian Jonathan Davy. This will take in various sites. Booking can be made through Eventbrite. The tour will depart from outside the Court House Warwick.
